Golden Retriever Tries on New Hat and He's Still Undecided About the Look

Zebby, the Golden Retriever , has one of the most expressive faces I’ve ever seen on a dog. When he’s sad, you know it. When he’s happy, you’ll see that, too. However, most of the time, he looks just slightly irritated with whatever antics his mom has him involved in. He’s a total vibe!
In a recent TikTok video posted by @zebbythegolden, his mom surprises him with a new blue hat—and decides he needs to model it for the camera. As she comes into the frame to put the little bucket hat on Zebby’s head, something in his demeanor instantly changes.
His face practically screams, “Oh no! Not again!” But being the good boy he is, Zebby obliges and lets her put the doggie hat on his head. It has two ear holes, a snug fit, and there’s even a pull cord to secure it in place. Mom starts adjusting it, and the sweet Golden just... tolerates it.
Once she’s finished, Zebby makes a half-hearted attempt to swipe the hat off his head—but quickly gives up. Then, with the drama only a Golden Retriever can muster, he stretches out with a sigh and melts into the floorboards. He’s clearly resigned to his fate—the hat is staying .
As he lounges on the living room floor, his mom reaches over and folds the brim of the hat up so we can see his eyes. And if looks could talk, they’d probably be saying, “Someone save me!”
