This Kitten Was Rescued by Construction Workers—Now She Wears Her Own Vest and Hard Hat

A tiny orange kitten has become the newest member of an Ohio construction crew after she was rescued from a piece of heavy machinery.
In a series of Instagram reels , which have generated over 11 million combined views so far, RiverReach Construction of northeast Ohio chronicles the feline's journey, which started back in July.
As operating supervisor Chase Guello checked on his equipment before heading out to work, he heard the feline crying for help. She was trapped in an excavator.
In the video, Guello is seen removing the skid plates from under the machine, and Komatsu—who was named after the brand of construction equipment—"dropped out of there like a snack in a vending machine," as one commenter on Instagram described it. In response to the popularity of the video, the construction company posted a poll on its account, asking fans to vote for the kitten's name. Komatsu was the unanimous winner, with Sue becoming her nickname.
"She was the size of my fist," Guello told ABC News . Following the kitten rescue, Komatsu North America sent the crew a tiny safety vest and hard hat with holes for the cat's ears. The company is now even selling merch depicting Sue in her gear.
After a couple of weeks with a foster, the kitten was returned to the construction crew. In one of the videos, Guello says "I am not a cat person, but this is the cutest cat I've ever seen," while holding Sue. The kitten now lives with the company's shop mechanic and is set to become a regular coworker in the office once she's old enough.
