The Worcester Lunch Car Company built 651 diners that were shipped throughout the area, becoming some of the commonwealth's most beloved culinary spots. Today, several of these historic eateries remain operational, offering visitors a chance to experience living history alongside their comfort food.
Among the most notable examples is Casey's Diner , which began as a 10-stool lunch car on wheels in 1922 in Framingham before being moved to Natick in 1927.
The Boulevard Diner is another classic, established in 1936 on Shrewsbury Street in Worcester. Additionally, the Miss Worcester Diner has been serving breakfast at the same spot since 1948, right across the street from where the Worcester Lunch Car Company was built.
