Earlier this year, the 30-year-old mom posted a now-viral video on TikTok in which she shows her son Brayden, 8, how to make a restaurant reservation after he shared that he wanted to take his mom out for a special Valentine's Day date.

The heartwarming clip shows Brayden learning each step of the task, from looking up the restaurant's phone number to telling the hostess the date and time of the reservation he'd like. At the end of the video, Davidson explains why she felt it was so crucial for her son to learn the skill.

"It’s very important you understand this because you’re going to make reservations one day, whether it’s for you and your friends, me and you, or whoever it might be, so I just want you to understand and know how to do that," she says. "You should always call a restaurant every time just to confirm because if you just pop up, especially on a special day like Valentine’s Day, where a lot of people want to go out, it could be busy."

Brayden sweetly thanks his mom for showing him how to make the reservation, and she later shared a follow-up video of the pair's successful Valentine's Day outing days later.

"I thought it was the perfect time to show him how to search for restaurants and make reservations. It was for me, but I also had his future in mind — when he goes out with friends, family, or his future wife, he will know what to do," Davidson tells PEOPLE.

"It wasn’t just the reservations that I taught him that day. I also taught him how to search for restaurants, how to look at reviews, how to know what kind of food whoever he’s taking out enjoys, how to ensure he gets to his reservation on time and how to make reservations ahead of time."

Davidson says that her date with Brayden was "amazing," and while the pair ended up going somewhere that didn't require a reservation, it was a "beautiful time with my lovely son."

"I felt truly appreciated that he wanted to spend his money on not only taking me out but getting me Valentine's gifts, and it’s really not even about the money. It’s the fact that he thought about me and wanted to do something nice for his mom," she continues. "I cherish his efforts."

Davidson says she's constantly teaching her little boy new life skills, and she "naturally" integrates them into their day-to-day conversations.

"Recently, he learned how to start a business. That came with making his pitch confidently, with eye contact, and stating clearly his intention," she shares. "I’ve always been teaching him how to cook and plate his food nicely. He loves making us breakfast. I’ve also taught him ways he can support someone when their emotional battery is drained, how to order his own food when we’re out to eat, the importance of a firm handshake, the power in saying 'no,' and so much more."

"I’m a natural teacher, not in schools, but internally, so whenever the moment comes, I integrate a 'life lesson' or just 'advice.' Sometimes I wait for the right time," she adds.

Davidson, whose reservation video has nearly 3 million views, admits she didn't expect so many people to resonate with the clip.

"I knew it would get some good feedback for the most part, I just didn’t know the engagement would be that high. I’ve built a pretty positive, supportive, caring community on all of my social media platforms, and me and my son are truly grateful for the love we receive," she says.

"I decided to share it because I know so many people are following me for advice on raising their sons or their kids, or because they need guidance on parenting or overcoming trauma, healing, or they simply just resonate with me and my story, and they are inspired," Davidson continues. "So sharing that video was my way of seeking to not only put out positivity, but help another parent who may want to raise their sons in a healthy-minded way, but might not have thought about teaching them how to make a reservation."

"Our sons become men that people expect should know how to do those types of things, amongst being respectful and kind, etc., so if just one other parent decides to teach their son how to take the lead, be a gentleman, put effort into loving his friends, his family, his future spouse, then that’s all that really matters," she adds.

"The world is changing little by little, and that’s enough for me."
