  • Former MySpace CEO Michael Jones is selling his six-bedroom Aspen home, which he purchased in 2021 for $17.9 million and is now listed for $27 million by Engel & Volkers.

A contemporary residence in Aspen's coveted West End is yours for the taking.

Built in 2017, the Smuggler Street home was recently brought to market by former MySpace CEO Michael Jones. The tech entrepreneur, who also co-founded Science Inc. , picked up the pad in 2021 for $17.9 million, property records show. He's now offering the six-bedroom, eight-bathroom abode, which was designed by architect Brewster McLeod, for $27 million. Erik Berg and Jordan Nemirow of Engel & Völkers hold the listing with Aspen Mountain vistas .

The primary bedroom affords owners rolling hillside vistas.

McLeod designed the home to maximize natural light and the surrounding mountain views. The generous layout, open-plan design, and soaring ceilings are what Jones and his family fell in love with on first viewing. "It's giant," Jones told Robb Report. "It had space for all the kids, and our dog could run around." The residence offers just shy of 5,800 square feet of living space and sits on a decent-sized parcel. "It was really easy to maintain, and I loved the build quality," adds Jones.

The Joneses moved into the home when they first relocated from L.A. in 2021. In the four years that followed, the family only gave it one "light refresh," adding new furniture and light fixtures. The asking price has jumped $9.1 million since the property was last listed, as heightened demand in the area during and after the pandemic has driven up the cost of real estate across the board. Money isn't the reason Jones is selling, though. "We're selling now because the kids are no longer living in the home and we need less space," he explains.

The stylish digs are centered around a great room that includes a plush living room with a dramatic two-story stone wall and built-in fireplace, as well as an elegant dining area with a 10-seat table and a striking wooden ceiling display. Nearby, the swanky kitchen features a stone backsplash, gas range, and Sub-Zero refrigerator, and a walk-in pantry with Wolf appliances. You can whip up meals outside, too, with a built-in grill sitting at the rear of the house.

Residents can use either floating staircases or an elevator to move between the three floors. The second floor is home to a suitably epic primary with sweeping views, a cozy brick-clad fireplace, and a private balcony. It also offers a spa-like en suite with a skylight and a soaking tub that lies beneath an eye-catching green wall.

A fire pit and built-in seating lie opposite the patio.

Five other bedrooms are spread throughout the interior. The lower level is perhaps the best part of the house, though, with a backlit wine cellar and entertainment room. Here, guests can relax in the dedicated lounge area with a glass of Pinot or play a few rounds of ping pong. There are also plenty of spaces for chilling alfresco, including a patio with an integrated snowmelt system and a built-in bench with a fire pit. Other highlights include a hot tub, a rooftop deck, and a heated garage with an EV charger.

Given its location and layout, the home would be perfect for those ready to embrace Aspen's year-round outdoor lifestyle. But if you ask Jones, it's best suited to a family.
