NYC-based chain to bring famous Detroit-style pizza to Boston for first time
The arrival of a lavish golf club in Massachusetts will also mark the Bay State debut of a famous Detroit-style pizza chain based out of New York City.
Emmy Squared Pizza is bringing its signature pizza and award-winning burgers to Swingers Boston , which is slated to open in Back Bay on Feb. 27.
In addition to Swingers’ craft cocktails, the brand will serve slices of its Frico-Crusted Detroit-style pizzas, signature burgers and other bites to guests as they go head-to-head on the venue’s crazy golf courses.
Menu highlights include the Roni Supreme (mozzarella, Ezzo pepperoni and Calabrian chili), Big Hawaiian (pepperoni, bacon, pineapple and chilli glaze) and Colony (pepperoni, pickled jalapeños and honey). All pizzas can be made gluten-free and/or vegan.
Emmy Squared Pizza will also offer its popular burgers — served on toasted pretzel buns — such as The Emmy Burger and Le Big Matt Burger, which has been widely regarded as one of the best burgers in NYC. Other bites will include meatballs in vodka sauce, loaded waffle fries with bacon and cheddar queso, crispy Brooklyn mozzarella sticks and salads.

Emmy Squared Pizza opened its first location in Williamsburg, Brooklyn in 2016 and has since grown to 26 locations nationwide. The chain’s self-proclaimed “one-of-a-kind pizza” combines a New York-style grandma pie with a Detroit-style pizza. The end product consists of a focaccia-like dough, crispy base and caramelized cheese edge known as frico crust.
Emmy Squared Pizza has also received high praise for its burgers, including winning Nashville’s Battle of the Burger, being recognized as one of “The Best New Burgers in NYC” by Gothamist and one of the “20 Best Burgers in NYC” by Infatuation, according to the company’s website.
Meanwhile, Swingers’ cocktail program will feature several Boston-inspired drinks including the Buzzards Bay Mule, Masshole-in-One and Storm in a Tee Cup.
Located at 777 Boylston St., the 21,000-square-foot venue will span two floors and feature two crazy golf courses, multiple bars and semi-private event spaces.
The mini-golf destination will also house Swingers’ signature arcade packed with classic games such as Roll-A-Ball, Skee-Ball and Down the Clown. Upbeat music will play throughout the venue as well.
Tickets for Swingers Back Bay can be purchased online . Several packages and ticket options are available, including The Swingers Experience, which comes with a round of crazy golf and 30 minutes of unlimited Carnival game play. The package starts at $25 per person.
