Charlie the rescue donkey alerted his human to his sister Flossie's foot abscess by gently directing attention to her leg, showcasing a heartwarming display of animal intuition.

I live for moments where animals can't use words but somehow make themselves perfectly understood, and Charlie, the rescue donkey , did exactly that when his sister Flossie wasn't feeling right.

In the video, their human is sitting in the grass beside the two donkeys when Charlie comes close and gently presses his nose toward hers. It's already sweet, but then his attention shifts.

Flossie had been curled up longer than usual, so Mom had come over to check on her. Charlie apparently knew there was more to find.

He moves toward Flossie and directs attention to one particular leg, almost like he's saying, "Right here. This is the problem."

And he was right.

Mom examined Flossie and discovered an abscess in her foot.

I'm completely undone by this. Maybe Charlie didn't understand the medical details, but he clearly noticed something was different with his sister and found a way to bring attention to it.

The video caption describes the moment beautifully: Charlie couldn't explain that Flossie hurt, so he showed his human instead. One comment added an even sweeter thought, suggesting he did it because he knew she would listen.

That part gets me.

There's a special kind of trust in an animal asking a human for help and expecting the request to matter. I love seeing those moments, especially when someone notices the tiny signals and takes them seriously.

Charlie may not have words, but he certainly got his message across.

I think Flossie is very lucky to have Charlie on sister duty.
