Royal Caribbean Unveils First Details of Its New Megaship, Legend of the Seas
- Royal Caribbean's new Icon Class ship, Legend of the Seas, promises more thrills, chills, and dining options at sea, building on the popular cruise line's "neighborhoods" concept.
Royal Caribbean's third Icon Class ship's first look was just revealed—and it's pretty legendary.
Touting "more thrills and chills," "all new night life" and "the most dining options at sea," the popular cruise line is building on top of its "neighborhoods" concept with something truly next-level with this next-in-line Icon Class ship, Legend of the Seas.
Its just-launched Star of the Seas is the biggest cruise ship at sea, and while Legend may not be adding significant tonnage to that already seismic feat, Royal promises brand-new adventure-packed experiences so families can "make memories of a lifetime."

What will be returning from Icon Class?
Signature Icon Class design details like Royal Promenade’sfloor-to-ceiling ocean views and the jaw-dropping Pearl—the world’s largest kinetic art sculpture—will be returning.
The incredibly popular open-air Central Park concept is also back, too .With more than 30,500 real plants and restaurants, live music, convenient pick-up windows for sushi, champagne, sparkling wine and more this neighborhood is already a fan-favorite. "We were surprised by how much we appreciated walking out into the open air every morning and grabbing a coffee at the Park Cafe," said our reviewer.
Premium statesroom and suite categories are returning as well, with the ultra-luxe and exclusive Suite Neighborhood and a redesigned three-story Ultimate Family Townhouse.
Returning dining options also include Surfside Eatery and Basecamp, premium cuts at Chops Grille, hibachi at Izumi and New England seafood favorites at Hooked Seafood.
What are some new dining options on Legend of the Seas?
The adventure theme carries through to all-new dining experiences on the ship, encouraging guests to go on a culinary and historical journey.
Set in a rail way car with screens showing scenes of the vistas "outside," "Royal Railway" makes a new stop at "Legend Station" this time, taking diners to new destinations along the ancient Silk Routes, following in the footsteps of Marco Polo for a five-course meal.
"The ship will have very cool features found on the previous two Icon Class ships, but will be taking a feature from Utopia of the Seas, an Oasis Class ship, with second Royal Railway experience," says Stewart Chiron, better known as The Cruise Guy.
Following New York's supper club on Icon of the Seas and Chicago Supper Club on Star, Legend's Hollywoodland Supper Club will celebrate the golden age of Hollywood. A multi-course dinner experience takes guests through a journey of cinema from 1910 to the 1950s.
AquaDome Market, Icon Class' food hall concept, gets a new selection of globally inspired menu options with five new all-day food stands and a brand new juice and smoothie bar.
What adventure activities will be on Legend of the Seas?
Legend of the Seas will feature the most watersides yet—6—at Category 6, touted as the largest waterpark at sea. Guests will also be able to zip-line 154 feet above the ocean at Crown's Edge, mini golf at Lost Dunes and rock climb at Adrenaline Peak.
Legend will have seven pools including adults-only infinity pool The Hideaway, Swim & Tonic swim-up bar; Splashaway Bay for kids and tots with nearby Water’s Edge for grownups, the largest pool at sea at Royal Bay, plus 10 whirlpools.
More family-friendly offerings include Surfside, the neighborhood for young families, which will have a new carousel and redesigned Playscape for youngsters.
What will entertainment be like on Legend of the Seas?
Broadway musical hit Ronald Dahl’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory will be taking the stage at the Royal Theater.
AquaDome neighborhood’s marquee AquaTheater will feature high divers, aerialists, robots and dancers, and at Absolute Zero, the largest ice arena at sea.
With more than 20 bars and lounges, guests will have plenty to choose from each night, including Lou’s for the best in jazz, singalongs at Dueling Pianos and craft cocktails at 1400 Lobby Bar.
Where will Legend of the Seas sail?
Legend will kick off its 2026 inaugural season with a 7-night Western Mediterranean adventure from Barcelona, Spain and Rome (Civitavecchia). In November 2026, Legend will head to the Caribbean with 6-night Western Caribbean getaways and 8-night Southern Caribbean vacations making calls in Aruba and Curacao. Plus, every Caribbean vacation will visit Royal Caribbean’s Perfect Day at CocoCay for crystal-clear beaches, waterpark for kids, pools and swim-up bars.
Cruises aboard Legend of the Seas currently start at $1,309 per person based on double occupancy, according to Royal Caribbean’s website .
