Coca-Cola Has Three New Exclusive Sodas and I Tried Them All

Coca-Cola has regional beverages that fans can only have when they're in specific parts of the world—if you've ever tried ordering a Diet Coke in Europe or Latin America, you're familiar with the concept. 

While some of the drinks exist under different names (try asking for Coca Light if you're craving Diet Coke internationally), there are some that are literally impossible to get outside of their home countries. 

But three new Coca-Cola products are so exclusive, even if you're in the same country as them, you can only get them within a roughly 100-acre radius.

Universal's newest theme park, Epic Universe, officially opened on May 22 , but I was able to visit the park a few days ahead of the opening celebrations as part of a press review. While there, I stopped by Coca-Cola Freestyle machines in different lands to try the three exclusive Epic Universe drinks. 

The beverages, both in regular and in zero-sugar versions, are not available outside of their respective worlds, which means fans need to be proactive if they want to try all the different flavors when they visit the park. 

Epic Universe is centered around Celestial Park, an imaginative world that feels like a mix between the Emerald City in The Wizard of Oz (and Wicked ) and lush gardens inspired by the zodiac. 

The Coca-Cola soda exclusive to the park is Celestial Spritz, a bright orange concoction that's slightly sweet and tastes like a mix of Fanta Orange and ginger ale, especially on the back end. There's also a touch of cherry flavor, with some added tartness.

Next up was the Isle of Berk, inspired by the How to Train Your Dragon movie series. The Dragon Splash is similar to the Celestial Spritz, once again playing with citrus notes. It's reportedly made from two lime drinks (Minute Maid Lime and Fanta Lime) with Mello Yello. Of all three exclusive Coca-Cola beverages, I found it the most lackluster despite its electric green hue. 

Last on the list, and my favorite of the three, was Screaming Berry from Dark Universe . The ominous world populated by creepy creatures like Dracula, Frankenstein's monster, and the Wolf Man, has an exclusive soda that's both delicious and on theme.

The soda has a mild sweetness with a hint of cream soda (it has vanilla in it), and though it is made with Fanta Cherry, Fanta Fruit Punch, and grape flavors, it reminded me of Cherry Coke. The dark berry color felt spooky and in line with the park's eerie aesthetic. 

While the sodas aren't spectacular enough to warrant a special trip to the theme park, if you're already there, seeking them out adds an extra adventure to your epic journey. Happy hunting!
