Drew Barrymore’s 'Strange' and 'Cringey’ Behavior Leaves Fans Divided

Viewers of 'The Drew Barrymore Show' aren't sure how to feel about the 'uncomfortable' practice.

Drew Barrymore is getting major side-eye from fans over some of her latest behavior.

On her talk show—which premiered Sept. 2020 and airs daily on CBS stations—the host is often very comfortable with her guests, but apparently, sometimes too comfortable as of late, according to social media fans.

In a clip taken from The Drew Barrymore Show broadcast that was uploaded to its official Instagram account on April 13, the Blended star can be seen interviewing comedic actress Kathryn Hahn , before sliding to the floor on her knees and jokingly groping the Bad Moms actress' legs.

"Drew and Kathryn Hahn celebrate shaving their legs 😂," the snippet was captioned.

Though the two were discussing the topic of shaving and the Charlie's Angels actress was obviously feeling Hahn's legs for stubble (or, rather, lack thereof), viewers didn't take too kindly to the action, calling her out for the "strange" and "cringey" behavior she's been exhibiting lately.

"The show should be named. Drew getting on the floor every episode," one social media user noticed in the comments of the post, referencing another recent episode where Barrymore caught heat for kneeling on the floor at transgender TikTok star Dylan Mulvaney'sfeet.

"Why does she keep doing this on the floor thing. I find it strange lol," another said of the scenario, while a third lamented: "Ewwwww it always makes me cringe how much she gets into her guests personal spaces!!! 😩 drives me crazy."

"Stop. This is so uncomfortable," an additional viewer called out.

"Remember when the Drew Barrymore show started and the chairs on the stage were so far apart because of Covid and Drew wasn't constantly on her knees at her guests [sic] feet?" someone else wrote in part, as another Instagrammer followed up with, "I like Drew but she needs to stop crawling on the floor."

Yet another added, "I usually love drew, but I find the constant touching, crawling on the floor & invading her guests' personal space to be totally cringe & inappropriate," wondering, "Would we applaud a man doing this?"

One Twitter user, however, offered their opposing opinion on the host's practice , quipping, "She kneels with a lot of her guests. This isn't new. All I saw was two women showing kindness and compassion to one another," in part, alongside several photos stitched together of Barrymore on the floor. Another pointed out that this is just " how she talks to her guests on her show. "

As of now, Drew has not responded to any of the banter surrounding how she conducts her interviews, but perhaps she's being guided by the principle of "my show, my rules?"
