On Wednesday, Dec. 11, the industry insider took to Instagram to share the enticing flavor innovation that's bound to be a hit with fans of the fantasy novels and its coordinating movies: Hershey's Butterbeer Kisses.
For those unfamiliar, "Butterbeer was a popular wizarding drink that was served in magical cafes, pubs and shops across the wizarding world. It could either be served warm and foaming in tankards or cold in bottles and tasted like a less-sweet butterscotch," according to the official Harry Potter website .
The drink is served at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter located at Universal Orlando Resort in Florida. It is often recreated with cream soda, caramel extract, butter extract, butterscotch topping and powdered sugar. Additionally, it can be prepared with vanilla vodka and butterscotch schnapps for a boozy version of the beverage.
As for Hershey's chocolate morsels modeled after the tasty sip, Devo's social media post noted that "Butterbeer Kisses feature gold colored creme Kisses filled with Butterbeer flavored creme."
In the comments section, fans expressed excitement over the sweet treat.
"Woah how unique and cool!!" one exclaimed, while another simply cooed, "Ooooooohhhhh 👀 💛."
"I NEED the update, friend! I am freaking out for these!!! 😍🙌🔥," a third emphatically admitted.
"I definitely want these," someone else wrote, in part, with an additional Instagram user noticing, "Very interesting 😮flavor, but definitely going to try these 😍."
Several more chimed in with reactions like, "👏 👏👏👏🙌🙌🙌❤️ yesssss!!! Can't wait; can't wait 😍😍," "Definitely going to need some of these (or a lot) 😂," "Totally down for this one," and "About damn time," in part.
So far, the grocery item has appeared online at The Hershey's Store via Walmart's website but is not yet available for purchase.
