Inside an $8 Million Condo on the 35th Floor of New York City’s Iconic Woolworth Building
- The Woolworth Building in Tribeca, once the world's tallest building, now houses luxury condos with a three-bedroom unit on the 35th floor for sale at $7.9 million.
The Woolworth Building in Tribeca, designed by skyscraper-pioneering architect Cass Gilbert, stands alongside Emery Roth's Beresford and Ely Jacques Kahn's Sherry-Netherland as one of New York's most distinguished residential landmarks. After holding rank as the world's tallest building from 1913 to 1929, the terracotta and limestone tower saw its top 30 floors converted into luxury condos after it was sold to a developer in 2012 . We got a peek inside the building's epic five-story penthouse back in 2021 (which is still for sale), and now we're going to check out a three-bedroom spread that spans half of the 35th floor.
The sky-high dwelling is one of just 33 units at the Woolworth Tower Residences. Comprising coveted features like a 36-foot corner great room, custom cabinetry by Molteni Group, and an integrated speaker system, plus far-reaching vistas of Manhattan's skyline, the sophisticated home last sold for $6.5 million in 2020 and is now available at $7.9 million with Vickey Barron, Pacey Barron, and Larissa Petrovic of Compass.

Landmark views are seen from the great room's dining area.
Natural light spills into the abode, highlighting herringbone wood flooring. Dual sets of sash windows in the great room are to thank for this, but the room's expansiveness and 10-foot ceilings are also worth noting, along with its custom dry bar with two under-counter fridges, one designated for wine. Ideal for "entertaining and relaxed gatherings," according to the listing, the space includes a dining area that seats 10 next to landmark views.
All-white, custom cabinetry by Molteni Group lines the chef's kitchen nearby, while an island topped by Calacatta Caldia marble anchors the space opposite Miele appliances and a second wine fridge. The primary suite sits at the end of the hallway that extends off the foyer, and though its bedroom isn't the most exciting (aside from its spectacular views), its marble-clad bathroom with a steam shower, dual vanity, and heated floors makes up for it. A separate and windowed office within the suite can be converted to a walk-in closet.
There are skyline and river views over City Hall Park from the condo's eastern exposure.
Building amenities like a 50-foot lap pool, fitness studio, wine cellar, and tasting room are perks provided to residents and their guests. A gaming area known as the Gilbert Lounge, accessible for rounds of pool, and white-glove services such as an attended lobby are icing on the cake.
As the most expensive zip code in Manhattan, Tribeca's cobblestoned streets are lined with spectacular residences. Taylor Swift maintains a huge residence in the art- and design-centric neighborhood, and Jake Gyllenhaal maintains a place in a building famous for its high-profile residents. Earlier this month, a mixed-use townhouse dubbed the Glass House came up for grabs at $13.8 million , and before that, director M. Night Shyamalan's former penthouse was listed for $14.5 million .
