Krispy Kreme Chocolate Glazed is Coming Back—But Not For Long
Krispy Kreme is officially bringing back a fan-favorite doughnut, but sadly, it will only be here for a short time.
The beloved chain announced in a press release that its Chocolate Glazed Doughnuts would be returning for two days only, on July 7 and 8, in celebration of World Chocolate Day.
But along with the limited-time run, Krispy Kreme shared that this will be the only time in 2023 that the Chocolate Glazed will appear on the menu.
Not to be confused with the Chocolate Iced Glazed Doughnut , the Chocolate Glazed is Krispy Kreme's Original Glazed® Doughnut covered in rich chocolate glaze.

In the press release, Dave Skena, Global Chief Brand Officer for Krispy Kreme, said, "It's been six years since we first delighted doughnut fans and chocolate lovers with this sensational innovation."
"Chocolate Glazed doughnuts are truly a special experience in our shops for guests to enjoy – from watching the chocolate glaze waterfall to the aroma of chocolate taking over shops to the taste of fresh doughnuts bathed in chocolate glaze. What a way to celebrate World Chocolate Day," he went on.
The doughnut flavor was first released in 2017 to celebrate the total solar eclipse. It has made rare returns over the years, either on World Chocolate Day, like in 2022 , or on special Chocolate Glaze Fridays.
Krispy Kreme is known for releasing special doughnuts for various occasions, and a few from this year include a collection of Reese's-inspired doughnuts , a Lotus Biscoff collection , and most recently, a line of patriotic, Fourth of July doughnuts . Occasionally, the company also brings popular flavors back for a limited time, as it is with the Chocolate Glazed.
While it's sad that the Chocolate Glazed Doughnuts are only coming back once in 2023, fans of the flavor should be excited to get their hands on some this July.
