What is Meghan Markle's Single Skillet Spaghetti?

Meghan's easy family-approved pasta was the first dish she cooked in the very first episode of With Love, Meghan . The ingredients list is as simple: spaghetti, olive oil, cheese with lots of vegetables, like greens and tomatoes. Perhaps the best part of the recipe is how "you do the whole thing in one pan, just like making a frittata," Markle says. "We don't have time for all these pot changes." True that, queen.

How to Make Meghan Markle's Single Skillet Spaghetti

Using a method similar to  Martha Stewart's one pot pasta technique, Markle adds tomatoes, garlic and the uncooked spaghetti to a skillet. She adds lots of olive oil, some lemon zest and boiling water from a kettle, then covers the skillet and lets the pasta cook for 6 minutes. While the pasta is rapidly boiling, Meghan adds in her chopped greens and continues to cook the pasta for 4 to 5 more minutes. And presto pesto! A finished pot of perfectly cooked pasta is ready to be showered with Parmesan cheese and enjoyed immediately with people you love.

Why Meghan Markle's Single Skillet Spaghetti Stands Out

As the pasta cooks down in the skillet, the starches from the noodles release and meld with the vegetables and oil to create a creamy sauce. According to Meghan, this technique "gives it [the pasta] this creamy quality without any cream."

Whoever you serve this one-pot pasta to will be blown away. "It's so weird because it's so hearty but it's not heavy," artist and Markle's friend Daniel Martin said after taking a bite. "This is literally cozy."

It's easy to see why this pasta is one of the dishes from the show that's got people talking. Forget all your dinner plans—Single Skillet Spaghetti is what's on the menu tonight!
