Ritz Just Dropped a Spicy Snack, and Fans Say It Will Take Spring to the 'Next Level'
- Ritz crackers have introduced a new Hot Honey flavor to their lineup, joining the trend of sweet and spicy snacks.
You can tell a lot about a person based on the kind of crackers they eat. People who eat oyster crackers obviously understand the importance of a delicious soup no matter what the weather is outside and probably have a passport with a variety of stamps on it. Your Club Cracker connoisseur enjoys their martinis stirred and extra dry with no less than two blue cheese-stuffed olives and a final twist of lemon. And then there are the Ritz cracker lovers.
Ritz devotees are their own enigmatic beings altogether. Ritz crackers strike the perfect medium between being the life of the party but not too fussy. They can be eaten as is, dressed up with a little bit of spice or transformed into a perfect buttery crust for pies and casseroles . They're the everyman's cracker, and we'll never get tired of their rich buttery flavor.

As delicious as the OG Ritz crackers are, though, there's always room to improve on a classic. Sure, you can stack meats and cheeses to your heart's content on top of those flaky rounds of wonder, but what if there was flavor infused into the actual cracker itself instead? Of course, Ritz is no stranger to adding a little extra spice to their crackers, but their latest flavor-filled update takes things in a spicy new direction.

As if they couldn't get any better, the brand announced a new Hot Honey flavor, and our mouths are watering. These decidedly spicy crackers join the likes of other brands leaning in the "swicy" (see: sweet and spicy) trend, like Kettle Brand's Chamoy Flavored chips or Starbucks' Spicy Lemonade Refreshers from this past summer.
According to @teamsupernovafb , the new crackers have already rolled out to stores, and shoppers have reported spotting them at Walmart. The announcement of the latest hot honey -infused offering comes on the heels of the previously announced Spicy Queso Ritz Bits and the launch of Sweet Habanero Ritz Toasted Chips last year.
We can already imagine all the snacking possibilities. These with DIY Lunchables would be incredible or crushed up as a coating for crispy chicken. You could even top these with parmesan and bake until golden—finishing with a drizzle of hot honey, of course. Now we see why they say, "Life's rich."
