The luxury, 18-acre St. Regis resort is on the Sarasota County side of Longboat Key, overlooking the Gulf of Mexico, and will be one of Marriott's most prestigious resorts in the state. The St. Regis' 31-month construction timeline and $331 million total construction cost are just part of the reason why General Manager Winfred van Workum is setting his sights on earning a five-star designation for the Longboat Key resort , which occupies the waterfront grounds of the former Colony Beach and Tennis Resort.

Most of the restaurants and bars at The St. Regis Longboat Key Resort are open to the public, including the hotel's signature restaurant, CW Prime Steakhouse. However, the Oshen rooftop lounge is exclusively open to hotel guests.
