"Holiday cheer is almost here. ✨," the accompanying caption read.
While there was no explicit call-out that Nov. 7 is Red Cup Day, we do know for a fact that it's when Starbies officially releases its 2024 holiday menu and, as other outlets reported , the debut of its festive drink and snack menu has coincided with the release of the red reusable cups in past years.
That said, trusted food blogger Markie_devo has it on good word that Red Cup Day isn't happening for another week—Nov. 14, to be exact—and that anyone who orders a drink this Thursday will receive it in one of the limited-edition holiday paper cups, instead.
For those new to Red Cup Day, all you need to know is that every beverage purchased will be served in a red reusable cup instead of the single-use holiday cup designs (while supplies last). Then, on future Starbucks runs, if you bring your red reusable cup—or any reusable cup for that matter—you'll receive a 10-cent discount on your order, with an additional 25 bonus stars for rewards members.
Starbucks has yet to formally announce the date of its 2024 Red Cup Day, leading to all the confusion, but the influencer has told fans that the intel is good and direct from a Starbucks employee, sharing a preview of this year's cup.
Even if Red Cup Day isn't this Thursday, it will still be a pretty big deal for the coffee chain. Aside from welcoming winter with its seasonal menu items, Nov. 7 also marks a huge change for its pricing system. As Parade previously reported, later this week, Starbucks will no longer charge an extra fee when customers substitute milk for a non-dairy option. The company is also finally giving the boot to its controversial olive oil drinks .
