SunChips' 'Legit' New Flavor Has Shoppers Rushing Out to Buy It

The iconic multi-grain snack known as SunChips has just released a new flavor and fans online are begging for more details as to where to get it. And while we personally adore just about every SunChips flavor under the sun, including Original, Harvest Cheddar, French Onion, Chili Lime and Garden Salsa, it's exciting to learn that a new contender has entered the playing field.

Those who have been waiting patiently for a new SunChips release can finally satisfy their cravings by way of an all-new Honey BBQ flavor . The popular chip brand recently confirmed that starting March 4, SunChips Honey BBQ will be available at retailers nationwide. And as an added bonus, fans will also be able to order the new chips via Instacart in select regions.

Now if SunChips Honey BBQ sounds familiar to those of you who have long been riding with the brand, that's because it kind of is. In a post shared to Reddit , one fan jostled everybody's memory by bringing up how the new flavor is actually an old flavor from 2016.

"They used to be called Sweet Spicy BBQ," the redditor noted, "they discontinued them and it seems now the Honey BBQ name would sell better marketing-wise."

If you're wondering how the new Honey BBQ flavor holds up against its discontinued counterpart, that same Redditor claims that "for anyone that's a SunChips person, it tastes exactly like Sweet Spicy BBQ." Color us confused, because it seems like an odd decision in the first place to discontinue any sort of BBQ chip flavor, but we digress.

Despite concerns of whether or not the new SunChips flavor holds up to the memories of our past, fans online are still more than excited for the new release. In the comment section of a post shared to Instagram by @snachwithzach , highlighting a variety of upcoming releases, fans were quick to label the new flavor as "legit" and "amazing." Another commenter even called Zach's post the "most stacked announcement in a minute," and we can't help but think that has something to do with the new SunChips flavor.

While SunChips Honey BBQ rolls out nationwide, some speculation exists online suggesting that Honey BBQ could be replacing the brand's Chili Lime flavor. As of right now, Chili Lime is still a part of the official SunChips lineup, so until that fateful day arrives, fans can snag all the bags of Chili Lime and Honey BBQ SunChips their hearts desire.
