While the brand already has a few Cantina restaurants scattered in cities across the country, this new prototype is less focused on upscale dining options and more concerned with specialty drinks, according to information shared with QSR Magazine .
A rep for the company told the outlet that it wants to "disrupt the beverage industry with a Taco Bell twist" by offering new drink options like previously-tested Chillers, Agua Frescas and specialty coffee, as well as quicker service with self-ordering kiosks, digital menu boards and limited seating.
Some of the new menu additions, per QSR , include Beekeeper Coffee , a Caramel Cafe Churro Chiller, Mexican Mocha Iced Coffee, Cinnabon Caramel Iced Coffee, Strawberry Lime Refresca Freeze and Vanilla Crema Iced Coffee.
"We're always looking for new ways to elevate the Taco Bell experience, and the Live Más Café is the perfect example of that," Scott Mezvinsky, Taco Bell president, international and North America, said in a statement.
"This innovative pilot concept is all about expanding the boundaries of what Taco Bell can be, creating a dynamic space where guests can experience our bold flavors in new and exciting ways," he continued. "The strength of our partnership with Diversified Restaurant Group has been key in bringing this vision to life. Together, we're not only pushing the envelope on innovation but also reinforcing the power of strong franchise relationships in driving Taco Bell's continued growth and success."
The brand also announced on Monday that its "biggest innovation experience," Taco Bell's Live Más LIVE event, is returning for the second year in a row this January. According to a Dec. 9 news release, the fast food chain's keynote will offer fans a glimpse into what to expect from Taco Bell over the next 12 months and is to be held on Tuesday, Jan. 28, at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles, Calif.
It looks like Taco Bell has plenty of surprises to serve up in the coming months, and fans can't wait to see how the company delivers.
