Taco Bell’s Twist on Classic Menu Item Looks ‘Amazing’

The fast food chain is reimagining one of its classic menu items, and fans are begging to get their hands on it.
Popular food blogger Snackbetch shared a roundup of test kitchen items that were dropped last month at the brand’s Live Más live event. The Instagram post, shared on April 2, highlighted a variety of options, from brisket tacos to poutine fries, and fans couldn’t help but notice one in particular.
The influencer described the menu item, a Mexican pizza empanada, as “everything fans love about the cult classic Mexican Pizza inside of a flakey crispy empanada.”
“The Mexican pizza empanadas look amazing,” wrote one fan as others agreed, commenting that the “Mexican pizza empanada would go soooo crazy.”
Not all fans were enthusiastic about the potential menu items, with one writing, “Taco Bell could use some new ingredients. I swear they just make new combinations of the same 10 ingredients and slap a goofy name on whatever they come up with.”
Another agreed, commenting, “As an employee, I can confirm half of these won't be coming.”
Unfortunately for fans, none of the test kitchen menu items are available for national distribution at this point. But there’s still hope, as several items from last year’s event made their way onto menus eventually.
