Average price of gas jumps $0.49 in a week: AAA
(WJET/WFXP)– AAA has reported that the average price for a gallon of gas in western Pennsylvania has jumped $0.49 since last week, marking the highest they’ve been in nearly four years.
After prices went down for two consecutive weeks, AAA said prices went up again to $4.654 on average, adding that it’s the highest they’ve been since July 2022.

Western PA saw a higher price hike than the national average of $0.34. Last week’s average price in the area was $4.160.
The new average price is $1.29 higher than a year ago at this time, according to AAA, with oil prices also going up $6.95 to $106.88 after the trading session on Wednesday, April 30.
The national average per kilowatt hour of electricity at a public EV charging station went up by one cent this past week to 41 cents, per AAA.

Multiple gas stations across the Erie area have been seen charging $4.69 a gallon, according to GasBuddy.com , with prices just over the Pennsylvania border in Chautauqua County being as low as $4.25 and $4.39.
