SPRINGFIELD — The Center for Human Development bought five residential properties in Holyoke, Springfield and Chicopee for $2 million and a Holyoke clinic site for an additional $1.77 million earlier this month.

CHD — a nonprofit human services agency — runs residential programs throughout the region, including in the locations it just purchased. One location, a row of duplexes at 39-41 Briere Drive in Chicopee, was leased to CHD for more than 20 years, the agency said last week in an email.

A deed for 39-41 Briere Drive and 46-48 Dakota Drive in Chicopee; 1817 Northampton St. and 23-25 Dexter St. in Holyoke; and one Springfield property, 1550 Allen St., also known as 1566 Allen St., were filed Aug. 8 at the Hampden County Registry of Deeds.

A separate deed conveyed 494 Appleton St., Holyoke to CHD for $1.77 million. That property is listed on CHD's website as an adult mental health clinic.

The seller is Michael J. Ciolek Jr., doing business as South Hadley Realty Trust, according to deed papers.

CHD has 80-plus programs and services designed to foster client independence in areas such as affordable housing, health care, addiction treatment, mental health counseling, services for people with intellectual disabilities and more.
