Nick Kepley, director of marketing at Jacob's Pillow, said earlier on Friday that a "critical incident" occurred at the center. Kepley could not share more details about the nature of the incident.

The incident canceled all Friday events and performances, according to an email sent to patrons.

"Due to unforeseen circumstances, all performances and events at Jacob's Pillow today, August 1, have been canceled including Sekou McMiller & Friends, Eun-Me Ahn, Kara Jenelle & KaJe Movement Collective, and the All Styles Dance Battle," a message from the center said.
