D4VD Told Guests Not To ‘Mind The Smell’ In His Home
- D4vd apologized to friends for a strange smell in his home, which was captured in a resurfaced video believed to have been recorded around the time Celeste Rivas Hernandez went missing.
A resurfaced video of D4vd is gaining traction online, showing the singer apologizing to friends for a strange smell inside his home.
The clip, believed to have been captured during a livestream, dates back to a period when Celeste Rivas Hernandez had reportedly been missing for weeks. The singer is now facing first-degree murder charges and multiple related counts in connection with Hernandez’s death, with a preliminary court hearing expected later this month.
D4VD Apologized To Friends For A Smell In His Home
D4vd remains at the center of a developing case tied to the death of Celeste Rivas Hernandez, though the allegations against him have yet to be tested in court.
Now, in a resurfaced video , the rapper is seen at home with two friends, appearing relaxed as they spend time together. At one point, he apologizes for a smell inside the house, telling his guests not to mind it and attributing it to having just used the bathroom.
On its own, the moment may have gone unnoticed. However, the video is believed to have been recorded roughly two months after Hernandez was last seen alive. Her dismembered body was later found in an impounded Tesla registered to D4vd in September 2025.
‘Smell’ Video Ignites Firestorm Online
On social media, viewers have been drawing their own conclusions from the timing of D4vd’s remarks, with one user writing, “Bro was literally apologizing for the smell… this is actually insane.”
Another commented on how unsettling the clip felt in hindsight, adding, “A corpse smells so strong… this is sick.”
Others went further, suggesting the video could play a role in the case, with one user claiming the singer “might be the most cooked defendant in a minute.”
D4VD Hit With Murder, Abuse Charges
D4vd was arrested in mid-April, following months when he was considered the main suspect in Hernandez’s murder.
Days after his arrest, he was formally charged with first-degree murder of the 14-year-old minor with special circumstances linked to “lying in wait, committing this crime for financial gain, or murdering a witness in an investigation.”
Other charges filed against him were “continuous sexual acts, lewd and lascivious sexual acts with an individual under 14 years old, and mutilating the human remains of a body.”
During his arraignment, he chose to plead not guilty to the charges. He remains in custody as the legal process moves forward and is expected to appear in court for a preliminary hearing later this month.
The Singer’s Attorneys Intend To Prove His Innocence
Ahead of the trial, D4vd’s attorneys have already promised a heated showdown with prosecutors. They stated categorically that the singer is innocent and that the evidence will prove this during the trial.
“Let us be clear – the actual evidence in this case will show that David Burke did not murder Hernandez and he was not the cause of her death,” the statement reads. “We will vigorously defend David’s innocence.”
Meanwhile, D4vd’s parents are standing by him despite the severity of the allegations against him.
“David’s parents believe in his innocence and support him wholeheartedly,” their attorney said.
Why D4VD’s Arrest Took Months
It took several months between the first time D4vd became a suspect and when authorities finally moved to arrest him. The delay angered several concerned individuals, who made it clear that the police should have moved faster.
Los Angeles Police Chief Jim McDonnell appeared to address this delay during the press conference where the charges against the singer were revealed to the public.
“I want to be clear about something, my duty is not to fuel speculation, it’s to deliver justice,” the top-ranking officer said. “And that requires patience and discipline on everybody’s part. This investigation was driven by a single purpose: to secure justice for Celeste Rivas and for those who loved her.”
According to McDonnell, detectives had to proceed cautiously to avoid creating any loopholes that could weaken the prosecution. He also noted that the time gap between Hernandez’s death and the eventual discovery of key evidence complicated the process, as some material had degraded or was no longer recoverable.
