DA identifies teens killed in separate weekend crashes in Taunton, Dartmouth
The Bristol County District Attorney's office on Monday identified three teenagers killed in a pair of car crashes in the southeastern part of the state late Friday and early Saturday.
Savannah Salemme, 18, of Dighton, was killed when a Toyota Tacoma pickup truck she was driving hit the front porch of a home in Taunton around 10:13 p.m. Friday night. The truck then rolled into parked cars in the driveway of the home, and was fully engulfed in flames when Taunton police officers arrived on scene, according to the district attorney's office.
Salemme was pronounced dead at the scene.
Hours later, around 1:09 a.m., on Interstate 195 in Dartmouth, 16-year-old Brielle Raposo and 15-year-old Cameren Gutter, both of Fall River, died when the KIA sedan they were in crashed into the median . Both teens were ejected from the car, which had been reported stolen out of Fall River, according to the district attorney's office.
The district attorney's office did not say who was driving the car when it crashed. But before the crash, State Police got a call about the sedan driving erratically and at high speeds on the highway.
