Driver injured after his school bus crashes into pole, Holyoke FD says

HOLYOKE — A school bus driver is recovering from minor injuries after his vehicle struck a utility pole Friday, officials say.

On Friday afternoon, the Holyoke Fire Department responded to Northampton Street and Madison Avenue, where firefighters found the bus. The bus was empty except for the driver, according to the department.

The cause of the crash is being investigated by the Holyoke Police Department. The police did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

The intersection where Northampton Street meets Madison Avenue is closed, fire officials said, advising drivers to use caution in the area.
