HOLYOKE — A well-being check led to a drug arrest Sunday evening, after Holyoke police officers found crack cocaine and drug paraphernalia inside a car with an unconscious man behind the wheel, Holyoke Police Chief Brian Keenan said in a statement.

On Sunday around 5:50 p.m., officers responded to Suffolk and Linden streets, where the man was reportedly slumped over in a running vehicle. Police found the driver, later identified as Kyle Konrad, 45, of Southampton, appearing unconscious, Keenan said.

As officers approached, Konrad woke up and turned off the car. Police said they saw crack cocaine inside the vehicle. A search turned up a container of suspected crack, several crack pipes, and other drug-related items.
