JetBlue plane headed to Boston shatters terminal window with wing in Virginia

A JetBlue plane traveling to Boston hit and shattered a terminal window at Richmond International Airport in Virginia during pushback on Thursday, according to ABC News .

The wing of the airline's Flight 1282 struck the building at around 12:10 p.m. Thursday, according to the Federal Aviation Administration . Part of the plane's wing was stuck in the glass.

The flight's passengers subsequently got off the plane at the gate and no injuries were reported, according to ABC News.

The FAA wrote on the "Accidents and Incidents" page of its website that "air traffic control is not responsible for plane movements in the gate area" but it will investigate nonetheless.

"Safety is our number one priority, and we will be conducting a full investigation with all relevant parties to understand how this occurred," JetBlue said in a statement sent to ABC News.
