Kansas City, Kansas police searching for missing 52-year-old blind man

KANSAS CITY, Kan. — The Kansas City, Kansas Police Department is asking for the public's help in locating a missing blind man.

Melvin Strode, 52, was last seen on Thursday, Sept. 3, around 5 a.m., at his home near 75th Street and State Avenue.

Strode is a Black man, standing 6 feet tall and weighing 190 pounds. He has black hair, a full beard and a mustache. Strode was last seen wearing a grey shirt, grey pants and black shoes. He has a tattoo on his forearm that says "RIP" and an unknown name.

Strode usually wears sunglasses, a medical alert necklace and walks with a cane.

He is blind and suffers from a traumatic brain injury. Due to these circumstances, Strode is considered endangered.
