Kayaker drowns at Montaña de Oro State Park

A kayaker drowned at Montaña de Oro State Park in San Luis Obispo County Saturday.

The kayaker drowned after he was flipped upside down by waves, witnesses told the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office.

“As a result, it appears the life vest he was wearing somehow slipped off his body,” the sheriff’s office said.
