Man arrested on murder charge in connection with fatal stabbing in Boston

A 29-year-old man wanted on a murder charge in connection with a fatal stabbing in Mattapan was arrested in Hyde Park on Sunday afternoon, Boston Police said.

Officers took Javonte Robinson, of Mattapan, into custody around 3:07 p.m. Sunday near 247 Neponset Valley Parkway in Hyde Park. Robinson was wanted on a warrant charging him with murder, police said in a statement .

Police went to 30 Fremont St. in Mattapan at around 7:20 p.m. Saturday for a report of a person stabbed in the area. Arriving officers found a man with a stab wound, police said.

The man was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

Boston homicide detectives are investigating the stabbing. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 617-343-4470.
