Police arrested a Randolph man on Tuesday in connection with an armed robbery outside a Stoughton restaurant that left another man seriously injured weeks prior.

Korrey Laquau Campbell, 33, pleaded not guilty to charges of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon resulting in serious bodily injury, armed robbery and malicious destruction of property in connection with the incident in Stoughton District Court on Wednesday, according to court records.

On Sunday, July 27, Stoughton police responded to the parking lot of a business on Technology Center Drive around 8:30 p.m. after receiving a report that a man had been robbed and assaulted, Stoughton police said in a press release . The investigation revealed that a 34-year-old Randolph man was walking to his car after having dinner at a local restaurant when two men with guns "violently assaulted" him, striking him multiple times with a weapon.

The suspects fled the scene with the victim's wallet and approximately two ounces of marijuana, police said. The victim was seriously injured as a result of the attack, and surgery was later required as part of his rehabilitation.

Detectives identified Campbell as one of the suspects in the attack through witness interviews, search warrants and social media posts, police said. The investigation also revealed that at least one of the suspects is known to the victim.

A warrant for Campbell's arrest was issued out of Stoughton District Court in connection with the attack on Aug. 21, according to court records. Massachusetts State Police arrested him on Sept. 2 during a unrelated traffic stop in Boston, Stoughton police said.

Campbell was arraigned in Roxbury District Court on Tuesday, and a judge ordered him transferred to Stoughton District Court on the outstanding warrant, police said. He was then arraigned on the charges and ordered held pending a dangerousness hearing on Sept. 8.
