Man saved from elevator shaft with ropes, harnesses by Boston firefighters

A man was safely rescued in Boston after being stuck in an elevator shaft about 70 feet from the opening on the 21st floor, according to the Boston Fire Department.
The man was stuck in a "blind shaft" at 53 State Street in Boston on Thursday.

Using ropes, harnesses and even a tripod system, the man was lifted successfully through the elevator and onto the 21st floor, officials said.
The fire department didn't provide additional information about what caused the issue with the elevator.
