On Wednesday, Aug. 13, a woman arrived at the Carver Police Station shortly before 7:40 p.m. to report that she'd been shot at Sampson Pond, Carver police said. Officers quickly noticed that she had been shot in the leg, and Carver Emergency Services took the woman to South Shore Hospital in Weymouth with non-life-threatening injuries.

The police investigation into the shooting identified Delman as a suspect, and Wareham District Court issued a warrant for his arrest on Wednesday, Aug. 20, police said. At that time, he was already in police custody in connection with a shooting in Dennis that happened later in the evening on the same day as the Carver shooting.

Around 9 p.m. that day, Dennis police were called to the Pier 134 Commons on Route 134 in South Dennis by a 911 call reporting a loud bang, after which a man was seen limping and crying in the pier parking lot, Dennis police said in a press release . At the scene, officers discovered that the man had been shot in the leg and was being taken to Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis.

The investigation into the shooting revealed that Delman, who was the man's relative, intentionally shot him, Dennis police said. With the help of Harwich police and the Regional Cape and Islands SWAT Team, Dennis police arrested Delman the following day around 4:45 p.m.

During Delman's arraignment in Orleans District Court, he was held without bail pending a dangerousness hearing on Aug. 19, according to court records. At the hearing, the judge deemed him dangerous and ordered him held without bail at Barnstable County Correctional Facility in Bourne for up to 120 days.

Delman's arraignment in Wareham District Court has not yet been scheduled. No further information about the shooting in Carver has been released.
