These Mass. colleges are among the top 100 best institutions in the country, US News says
Following Princeton University, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Harvard University topped the list of the 2026 U.S. News and World Report national universities rankings .
They earned second and third place.
In addition, seven other Massachusetts colleges nabbed top positions in the top 100, including:

The best college rankings from U.S. News and World Report have been released for more than four decades, according to its website. It evaluates more than 1,700 U.S. colleges and universities as part of the best college rankings and more than 400 schools are in the national universities category.
The rankings are based on criteria like graduation rates and performance, retention rates, full-time faculty, among other factors, according to its website.
