Mass. father wins $2M Powerball prize while taking kids out for slushies
A father from Massachusetts won $2 million playing Powerball after he bought a winning ticket while he took his children out for slushies.
Christopher Williams, of Fall River, won the $2 million prize during the drawing on Wednesday for a $383.8 million jackpot and claimed the winning ticket the next day.
Williams had been out for a walk on Wednesday to get slushies with his children, and decided to buy a Powerball ticket — a game he told the lottery he hadn’t played in a while.
The father looks forward to buying a house, investing and taking care of his kids with the money, he said.
Williams bought his winning ticket at a Cumberland Farms, located at 64 Stevens St. in Fall River. The store will receive a $20,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.
