Mass. man arrested for having child sexual abuse videos on his computers, U.S. Attorney says
A Leominster man was arrested Thursday after federal law enforcement searched his home and found videos of child sexual abuse on his computer and other electronic devices, the Massachusetts U.S. Attorney's Office announced Friday.
Brian Cook, 36, was charged with one count of possession of child pornography, the U.S. Attorney's office said in a press release .
While executing a federal search warrant at Cook's home on Wednesday, investigators reviewed files on his computers and hard drives, which allegedly revealed several videos of child sexual abuse, the U.S. Attorney's office said. Law enforcement seized numerous electronic devices, including laptops, hard drives and various other means of storing digital media for further forensic review.
A federal judge ordered Cook detained pending a hearing in federal court in Worcester on Friday, the U.S. Attorney's office said. He faces up to 20 years in prison, a lifetime of supervised release and a fine of up to $250,000 if convicted on the charge.
