Mass. police search area where missing pregnant teenager was last seen
Rehoboth police returned to a part of County Street on Tuesday, the last area known to be where missing teenager Kylee Monteiro was seen, according to several news outlets.
The large police presence was in the area of 107 County St., The Sun Chronicle reported.
Officers in the area carried several evidence bags and searched along a dirt trail in the area at 3 p.m., ABC 6 wrote.
Along with Rehoboth police, Massachusetts State Police troopers, a K-9 unit and an excavator were also in the search area, WJAR reported.
"We're constantly in contact with [the police]," Kylee Monteiro's sister Faith Monteiro told WJAR. "There haven't been much updates. Everything is kept quiet. They don't want anyone to interfere with the investigation, which I understand, but it looks like they're raiding the house now and I don't know what's going on. I'm just scared and hope they have a lead on something. We just want to find her and bring her home."
Rehoboth police did not comment on the investigation, but previously told MassLive on Tuesday that Kylee Monteiro's disappearance was under investigation. MassLive reached out to Rehoboth Police Chief Louis DiBacco for more information.
Reported missing on Aug. 7, Rehoboth police described Kylee Monteiro, 18, as 6-feet tall and heavyset, with light brown hair and brown eyes. She was wearing a red T-shirt with the phrase "get over it" printed on the front, ripped blue jeans and tan boots when she went missing.
On Aug. 13, Massachusetts State Police, a search and rescue team and other law enforcement looked for Kylee Monteiro in the area of County Street, where she was last seen walking, The Sun Chronicle reported. Police have used dogs and drones in their search for her. A dive team searched the waterway at the Warren Upper Reservoir in Rehoboth.
Before she disappeared, Kylee Monteiro had an argument with her boyfriend, Monteiro's family told WCVB-TV .
