Raleigh police investigating deadly shooting at apartment complex

- Raleigh police are investigating a shooting at an apartment complex that resulted in the death of a 27-year-old man named Basadar Lawya St. Phard.
Raleigh police say a shooting that happened at an apartment complex on Friday afternoon is now a death investigation.
Saturday, the police department announced that man who was shot died from his injuries. He has been identified as 27-year-old Basadar Lawya St. Phard.
Police said an individual who was treated on the scene for minor injuries and later questioned. Detectives released the person without filing charges, after consulting with the Wake County District Attorney's Office.
The investigation started when Raleigh police officers were dispatched around 5:00 p.m. to reports of shots fired at The Park on Northridge Apartments on Brookbank Lane.
An eyewitness told ABC11 they saw an altercation between a man and several women before hearing multiple gunshots at the complex.
"So, I heard 13 rounds of shots go off, um, one unloading, then a pause followed by several more shots," a resident said.
"And then after that, there was screaming, and as I looked outside, a mother was running after her child to make sure that he was OK."
Raleigh police say the shooting remains under investigation.
