WESTFIELD — A teenager was arrested at his home on Aug. 14 after being accused of shooting three other teenage boys in the face with a BB gun during a fight, according to police.

Landon D. Dion, 19, of 139 Tannery Road, Westfield, was charged with three felony counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon because of the incident, according to court documents.

Police were alerted to the incident at about 12:20 a.m., Thursday, Aug. 14, by staff in the emergency department of Baystate Noble Hospital when three teenagers between the ages of 18 and 19 arrived suffering from facial wounds, said police in a statement of facts.

Police Capt. Eric Hall said the officer's report of the incident didn't include all the injuries the teens suffered, but that one had a BB lodged under the skin just below his left eye.

The report also didn't include if the BB gun was a rifle or pistol type because it wasn't recovered, Hall said.

The Emergency Department staff told officers the teens said there had been some type of altercation at Westfield Technical Academy that ended with Dion shooting them, according to the log entry in the department incident log.

The teens, who knew Dion, confirmed the story when being interviewed by officers, adding that Dion was "in control" of the BB gun, according to the statement of facts.

Hall said there may have been at least seven individuals involved in the altercation, which he said occurred just off Greylock Street in one of the school's parking lots.

Immediately after the shooting, Dion drove home where he was arrested about an hour and a half after the incident.

After booking, he was released after posting a cash bail of $500, according to court documents.

Dion returned to district court on Aug. 14 to be formally arranged on the three charges and pleaded not guilty.

He was released after posting an additional bail of $1,000 and ordered to not have any contact with the three teens wounded, refrain from illegal drugs, recreational marijuana, and alcohol, and cooperate with any mental health evaluation.

Dion's next court appearance will be on Oct. 2 for a pretrial hearing.

Dion was a standout for Westfield Tech's soccer team between 2020-24.
