Recall alert: Baby product sold on Amazon could be deadly; stop using ASAP
A baby lounge product sold on Amazon is being recalled after the company discovered it could be deadly.
Pomona is recalling 23,000 units of its baby loungers, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) reported.
This is because the sides of the loungers are shorter than the minimum height limit to secure the child and the sleeping pad's thickness exceeds the maximum limit, posing a suffocation hazard.
Additionally, a child could fall out of the enclosed opening at the foot of the lounger or become entrapped and the portable loungers do not have a stand, posing a fall hazard.
"These violations create an unsafe sleeping environment for infants, posing a risk of serious injury or death," the CPSC wrote.
The baby loungers are in the style "grey feather" and are made of a gray cloth cover printed with feathers with a foam sleeping pad and padded bumpers. "URMYWO" and "Model No: UMCZC01AE" are printed on labels located on the side of the lounger.
The product was sold on Amazon from January 2024 through April 2025 for between $30 and $50.
No incidents or injuries have been reported, however customers are told to "stop using the baby loungers immediately," the commission said.
Customers who want a full refund are asked to remove the sleeping pad, cut the sides of the baby loungers and the sleeping bag and email the photo to Pomona at urmyworecall@outlook.com.
