Authorities in Florida say two "Slingshot Bandits" have been arrested, bringing an end to a "multi-day vandalism spree."

The Tampa Police Department said officers responded to North Nebraska Avenue at around 8:30 p.m. on Nov. 3 for a report that a vehicle's rear window had been smashed.

Police say the incident was one in a series of similar reports, and investigators identified a vehicle of interest in the case linked to 38-year-old John Horner.

Horner was arrested at his home, where officers recovered a slingshot and stones "matching evidence collected at previous scenes." Police also arrested 42-year-old Anibal Rios-Mulero.

According to investigators, the pair allegedly launched slingshot attacks from a vehicle, with Horner driving and Rios-Mulero shooting rocks from the passenger seat.

Police did not immediately specify how many incidents were reported, or exactly what charges the men are facing.

"Believed to be connected to other similar incidents, these bandits got a stone-cold reality check when our detectives put an end to their smashing spree," police said.
