Springfield police cruiser pushed by other car into pedestrian
SPRINGFIELD — A pedestrian suffered minor injuries after being struck by an unmarked police cruiser Wednesday morning.
The cruiser, driven by a male officer, first collided with another car when its driver allegedly failed to come to a complete stop at Frost and Spring streets. The impact then pushed the cruiser into a man who was standing on the sidewalk, said Ryan Walsh, police spokesman.
The pedestrian, the officer and the second driver were all brought to local hospitals to be evaluated after the 9 a.m. crash. None received serious injuries, he said.
The man who was driving the car that collided with the cruiser was cited for failure to stop, Walsh said.
