Storms across Mass. possible Monday night, but could more rain fall this week?
Parts of Massachusetts could see thunderstorms for the early part of Monday night, but the next round of precipitation could wait until later in the week.
The arrival of a cold front could instigate the chance of isolated rain and thunderstorms early in the evening, according to the National Weather Service. No advisories or watches are in place, as forecasters anticipate this risk to be not "anything significant or widespread," forecasters wrote.
Chances are low for thunderstorms developing, with a 20% for Worcester, Boston and Springfield, according to the weather service.
The rest of the evening should see dry and cooler temperatures behind the cold front as it moves, with overnight lows down in the 50s and low 60s, forecasters said.
Sunshine and low humidity should be present Tuesday, with cooler temperatures expected Wednesday, forecasters said. Highs on Tuesday should be in the 80s, while Wednesday should reach the 70s.
By Thursday, humidity levels rise up again, as temperatures reach the high 70s and even potentially the low 80s in the Connecticut River Valley, forecasters said. Rain could materialize later in the day as a cold front enters the region and continues through Friday, followed by the potential for thunderstorms between Friday afternoon and Saturday. Forecasters will have a better idea as the week goes on.
