Thank you, Brevard. Grimaldi Candy Company owners sold business

After 14 years of owning one of Brevard County's most beloved sweet shops, Grimaldi Candy Company , Jim and Trisha Frazier have sold the business.

"We're preparing for a new chapter in our lives," the couple told FLORIDA TODAY . "We want to pursue new adventures and spend more time with our grandchildren."

The couple declined to name the new owners or the selling price.

Known for its chocolate-covered potato chips, nostalgic confections and loyal customers, the couple said change of ownership is expected to be seamless, with all employees remaining in place and the traditional recipes and products staying the same.

"Some of our fondest memories are of customers telling us about visiting Grimaldi as children, holding their parents' or grandparents' hands, looking through the candy cases, and picking out that special treat. Hearing those stories, and then watching those same customers return years later with their own children and grandchildren, has meant more to us than words could ever express," the Fraziers posted on their Facebook page .

"To every customer who visited our stores, supported our business, recommended us to a friend, sent our chocolates as gifts, or made Grimaldi part of your family's traditions, we want you to know how deeply grateful we are. Your loyalty, kindness, friendship, and support over the years have been an incredible blessing to both of us."

Founder Vincent Grimaldi brought generations of candy-making expertise to Brevard County. A native of Sarno, Italy, he came from a family of confectioners whose roots in the trade dated back to 1812.

Alongside his wife, Anella, Vincent Grimaldi opened Grimaldi Candies in 1970 and operated the company until retiring and selling it in 1999.
