Western Mass. man dies days after being critically injured in motorcycle crash on Route 7

A Lee man who was critically injured when the motorcycle he was riding crashed in Lenox on Sunday died of his injuries on Wednesday, the Berkshire County District Attorney's Office announced Thursday.

Gustavo Bernal, 49, was found unconscious in the middle of road by a Massachusetts State Police trooper who was on patrol, the district attorney's office said. Police responded to the single-vehicle crash at the intersection of Route 7 and Plunkett Street shortly after 9:30 p.m.

Paramedics took Bernal to Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield, but he died of his injuries three days later, the district attorney's office said. Authorities are still investigating the crash.

The district attorney's office did not include any information about the cause of the crash. No further information has been released.
