What's that planned by Pure Barre at Germantown Collection on Poplar?
A notable designer eyewear retailer is looking to open a store in Germantown.
New York-based Warby Parker plans to occupy an 1,880-square-foot vacant space at 7820 Poplar Ave. in the Germantown Collection shopping center, according to a commercial alteration permit filed with the Memphis and Shelby County Division of Planning and Development on Feb. 27.
Warby Parker would move into the location that was formerly occupied by full-service hair salon chain Fantastic Sams Cut & Color. It would be located between Blow Dry Bar and Pure Barre, according to Cameron Ross, Germantown's director of economic and community development.

The estimated cost of construction for the Warby Parker retail space is valued at $405,000, according to the application filed by Katie Gray of Pulley Studios.
The project is still under review by the Memphis and Shelby County Division of Planning and Development. According to the permit, the work includes interior demolition, new non-structural partitions, finishes and mechanical, electrical and plumbing work. Exterior work will be permitted separately upon Germantown Design Review Commission approval.
Warby Parker has more than 320 retail locations across the U.S. and Canada as of early 2026, including Tennessee locations in Franklin, Knoxville and Nashville. The Warby Parker in Germantown would be the retailer's first Memphis-area location.
Germantown Collection includes other popular tenants such as Trader Joe's, Chicken Salad Chick and Nest Décor.
