Woman dead, UPS driver hurt after she drove into his parked truck in Belchertown
BELCHERTOWN — A woman from Ware died Tuesday afternoon after her car collided with a UPS truck on the side of Route 9, the Northwestern District Attorney's Office said Wednesday.
Around 1 p.m., the woman, 48, drove her car into the delivery truck, which was parked outside a home at 300 Ware Road, the DA's Office said in a statement.
An ambulance took her to Baystate Wing Medical Center in Palmer, where she was pronounced dead.
The UPS driver was knocked down during the collision and suffered minor injuries.
The Belchertown Police Department, Massachusetts State Police assigned to the DA's Office, and state police troopers with the Collision Analysis Reconstruction, Commercial Vehicle Enforcement and Crime Scene Services were there to investigate the crash.
That investigation is ongoing, the DA's Office said.
