Somerset County mail-in voting deadlines voters need to know

Somerset County voters planning to cast their ballots by mail have several deadlines approaching ahead of the Nov. 3 general election.
The Somerset County Election Division says voting by mail is underway, and secure ballot drop boxes are open for voters who have completed their ballots. Mail-in ballots were sent beginning Sept. 15.
Voters who have not received an expected mail-in ballot can request a replacement from the county, email the County Clerk's Office or call 908-231-7013. Voters can also still apply for a mail-in ballot.
When can I get a mail-in ballot in Somerset County?
The County Clerk's Office normally is open from 8:15 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, but additional hours are being offered for voters seeking mail-in ballots.
The remaining special hours are Wednesday, Oct. 28, 4 to 6 p.m.
The last day mail-in ballots can be mailed to voters is Tuesday, Oct. 27. The final day to obtain a mail-in ballot in person from the County Clerk's Office is Monday, Nov. 2.
What if I received a mail-in ballot but want to vote in person?
Voters who received a mail-in ballot but decide to vote in person can do so during early voting or on Election Day by casting a provisional ballot, according to the county.
Sample ballots are also available online and were scheduled to be mailed to voters Oct. 21.
