Still not registered to vote? These states allow same day voter registration

With just a handful of days until the  general election  on Nov. 5, the presidential race is coming down to the wire.

The 2024 contest for the White House remains in a  dead heat  between former President  Donald Trump  and Vice President  Kamala Harris to claim battleground states that could solidify an Electoral College victory,  new polls released by UMass Lowell / YouGov  show.

Some 62 million Americans have already voted, according to Election Hub at the University of Florida, but for those who aren't registered to vote yet, can they still participate? In some states, the answer is yes.

Each state has its own set of voter registration deadlines, voting hours and same-day registration rules, but over 20 states allow some type of Election Day registration and voting on Nov. 5.
